Dear Friends,
Are you catching God's vision for His kingdom expanding through the ways and places that people work? As you'll see, many people are catching this vision and endeavoring to be a part of it. God is creating a widespread hunger for meaningful work, worthwhile vision and healthy values in all our workplaces.
What an opportunity for us, to assist company leaders in extending kingdom vision and values throughout their organizations! We're excited about our goal of serving 150 such companies in the next five years.
How can you help? We believe that informed, passionate and ongoing prayer is our greatest need. Will you consider and let us know of your willingness to become a regular prayer partner with us? We'll help you do that and trust God together for open doors and spiritual fruit!

The media has picked up on the buzz surrounding faith-at-work issues. Within just one short week, four articles were recently published in FORTUNE Small Business and CNNMoney.com, showing that readers across the nation want to learn how faith and the marketplace can genuinely intersect.
These articles highlight two companies – CK Engineering and Dallas1 Construction & Development – both of which stand out as the kind of company Working Faith desires to serve, encourage and promote. Their CEOs want their companies to be vehicles for God's glory and his will. Both of them are asking the tough questions for business owners who are following Christ: How does one succeed in a competitive industry while maintaining ethical standards? How does an entrepreneur rightly divide company profits between himself, his associates and other stakeholders?
According to one article, Christian business owners are increasingly joining networking organizations for Christians in business, including the BBL Forum in Anaheim and Fellowship of Companies for Christ (FCCI), based in Oklahoma City. Half of these 30+ organizations were pioneered in the last five years. "I've been doing this for 30 years, and I have never seen anything like the last couple of years," said Kent Humphreys, president of Christ@Work, an FCCI ministry.
With these kinds of organizations and companies being highlighted in the news today, we expect that rising numbers of Christian business leaders will recognize the opportunity that Working Faith provides for them to exercise their faith in their workplace leadership.

Working Faith invites you, our friends, donors, clients and supporters, to join us in praying for Working Faith and its mission. If you are interested in becoming a member of our Prayer Network, please let us know. Every month, Network members will receive an email or hardcopy update on Working Faith's progress and specific prayer requests.
For example, at this time we ask for prayer in regard to the following:
- For the number of working alliances we have with other organizations to grow and produce spiritual fruit, and that our existing relationships would continue producing good results.
- For effective messaging of Working Faith's services to client companies. This includes identifying prospective clients and gaining spiritual insight into their faith-at-work issues.
- For the Lord's favor in establishing trusted personal referrals to Christian business leaders and owners.
If you are willing to support WF with regular prayer, please contact Joyce Millikan at jmillikan@workingfaith.com or 626.486.0691. We would greatly appreciate your involvement! |

If you've eaten a Big MacTM in the last 40 years, then you've tasted the "secret sauce," which was developed in the late 1960s by Golden State Foods (GSF). Headquartered in Irvine, California, GSF is one of the largest service providers to McDonald's. But more importantly, GSF is a values driven company, one that seeks to glorify God in its services, policies and everyday operations.
GSF adheres to a God-honoring company creed, which includes the following:
We believe in God and the dignity of all people.
We believe that people should be treated as we would like to be treated, and this applies to all of our associates, their families, our customers and suppliers and to all others with whom we do business.
GSF also upholds a set of core values:
Treat others like you want to be treated.
Make the best product.
Give the customer a fair deal.
Maintain the highest standards.
As a natural extension of its creed and values, GSF recently created the GSF Foundation for kids, a national non-profit organization that helps children and families in need. The Foundation partners with charities nominated by GSF employees while providing opportunities for associates to live out GSF's creed and values more fully. With six hundred local business leaders attending, the luncheon featured David Ridley, Senior VP of Southwest Airlines, who spoke about servant leadership and how this has impacted Southwest. During the event, Working Faith set up a creative exhibit that pictured its mission and services. The Faith & Business Forum is dedicated to helping local business leaders learn how to effectively integrate Christian ethics and values at work.
